Vehicles That Qualify?

This plan applies to both owners of conventional (long buses) and commuters (kombis) plying either local, inter city or regional routes.

Type of Covers Available

Option 1 - Comprehensive Cover

This option will cover loss or damage to your vehicle against accidents, fire, theft and liabilities to third parties including accidental injuries sustained by your passengers.

Option 2 - Full Third Party Fire & Theft Only

This option will cover loss or damage to your vehicle against the risk fire and theft only and liabilities to third parties including accidental injuries sustained by your passengers.

Option 3 - Full Third Party Only

This option will cover you against third party liabilities only including accidental injuries sustained by your passengers.

Warranties

Vehicles valued over E250, 000.00 should be fitted with a tracking device for theft cover to be incorporated. (15% discount on premium to be enjoyed by insured).
Driver should have a minimum age of 25 years and have at least a 2 year driving experience.
Driver should have a valid public driving permit.
Vehicle should be fit and authorized by regulatory authorities to ferry members of the public.

Example of Premium Calculation

You own an 18 seater commuter bus valued at E200 000 and have decided to join Lidwala's PUBLIC TRANSPORTER VEHICLE INSURANCE PLAN.

You decide to take option one which is the comprehensive cover that will also cover you against third party liabilities up to limits highlighted in table 1 under the features of cover.

Your premium shall be :-

In the event of an accident to enable easy processing of your claim, ensure you;

Report the accident immediately to the nearest police station and obtain copy of the police report
Obtain details of passengers that could have been injured including their contact numbers.
Contact your broker or if direct (phone Lidwala) and notify them of the loss preferably within 48 hours.
Obtain three quotations from independent repairs
Complete a motor accident claim form
Attach copy of your driver's license
